The Man on the Horse

On every Heggies Vineyard bottle is the image of a man sitting on top of his horse and surveying the land before him. The man’s name is Colin Heggie, a local grazier, who was the original owner of the picturesque Eden Valley property before he sold it to his old friend Wyndham Hill Smith.

Accolades

A really enjoyable drink
Clean and fresh, there is a skip in its step. A tidy entry-level Heggies Chardonnay from the Eden Valley. Lemons, mango and a flash of lemon butter with plenty of juicy and fleshy white stonefruits. Citrusy acid on close gives it another lift. A really enjoyable drink, you wouldn't be disappointed with this in your glass. Drink to five years.

Precision and length
The name gives a clue to the high-altitude vineyard source high up in the Eden Valley. This fits snugly into that bridge between value for money and a touch of class with a brilliant bright luminosity and an aroma that captures the variety perfectly. Lemon zest with a stone fruit infusion on the nose. Then the palate really strikes gold with its precision and length. It also has that vibrant zippy feel with a crystalline acidity promoting a very long finish plus a lovely mouthfeel to boot. Mighty impressive for this price.
